PLAGIARISM DETECTION POLICY â€‹

The Global E-Journal of Social Scientific Research ISSN: 3107-3883 (Online) maintains a strict and transparent zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism. We consider plagiarism — in any form — a serious violation of academic ethics and intellectual integrity.

This policy outlines the types of plagiarism recognized by the journal, the detection methods used, consequences of violations, and guidance for authors to avoid unintentional plagiarism.

Responsibility of the Author :

Authors are solely responsible for the integrity and originality of the content they submit. They must:

  • Ensure that all sources are properly cited in-text and listed in the bibliography.

  • Use quotation marks for directly copied text, even if cited.

  • Avoid submitting previously published work (self-plagiarism), unless clearly indicated and allowed as per journal policy (e.g., extended conference papers).

  • Obtain permission for reuse of copyrighted material, images, or data.

A Plagiarism Declaration Form may be requested at the time of submission.

 Editorial Handling of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected at any stage — pre-review, during review, or post-publication — the following actions will be taken:

 Pre-Review Detection (before peer review):

  • Manuscripts with a similarity index above 10% will be returned to authors for revision or outright rejected, depending on the nature and extent of the plagiarism.

  • Authors will be advised to revise and resubmit with proper attribution or rewriting.

  •

During Peer Review:

  • Reviewers or editors who suspect plagiarism during the review process must notify the editorial office immediately.

  • The editorial board will conduct an independent analysis using plagiarism reports and relevant academic sources.

  •

 Post-Publication Detection:

If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the journal will:

  • Issue a public retraction of the article.

  • Notify the author’s institution or funding agency.

  • Ban the author(s) from submitting to the journal for a minimum of 2 years.

  • Remove or annotate the online version of the article with a plagiarism notice, as per COPE guidelines.

  • Appeals Process

  • Authors have the right to appeal a plagiarism-related decision. Appeals must be submitted in writing to the Editor-in-Chief within 10 working days, along with a detailed explanation and supporting documents. The editorial ethics committee will review the appeal and respond within 15 days.

  •

  • Educational Support

  •

  • The journal encourages academic integrity through awareness and offers:

  • Educational articles on academic writing and citation practices.

  • Recommendations for tools (e.g., Zotero, Mendeley, Grammarly) to check citations and avoid accidental plagiarism.

  • Personalized feedback when plagiarism is detected unintentionally, especially for early-career researchers and non-native English writers.8. Ethical Standards and Reference Guidelines

  • This policy follows the ethical standards recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and UGC (India) Regulations on Academic Integrity and Plagiarism (2018).
